Maria Sharapova started hitting balls when she was 4. At the age of 6 she was spotted by Martina Navratilova in an Tennis exhibition in Moscow. She moved to the United States with her father to start training at Nick Bollettieri’s Tennis Academy in Bradenton (Florida) when she was 9. Off-court she enjoys reading, singing and dancing. Her interested also include fashion and movies. She prefers Russian and Thai cuisine.
